Principal's Message
August 15, 2008
Dear Families of Mosier School Students,
It is with enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the Principal of Mosier Elementary School. I look forward to meeting you and working with your family to provide the best educational experience for your child. I hope that you have had a great summer and have enjoyed many exciting activities with your family. I have spent my summer eagerly planning for your child’s return or entrance to Mosier School.
The first day of school is Thursday, August 28, 2008. Our school day begins with the first bell at 8:15 a.m. Dismissal is at 2:50 p.m. Students received their teacher assignments in June, however if your child is new to Mosier or the assignment has changed, you will find your child’s classroom teacher at the bottom of this letter. Please take the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher should you have special concerns for adjustments to the new year.
Mosier School will be further enhanced by the return of our dedicated teachers and support staff from last year. In addition, we extend a warm welcome to Ms. Zlogar, who is our new Teacher of Moderate Special Needs as well as Mr. Lockwood, our new Computer Administrator. Our staff will bring their expertise, ideas, inspiration, and excellence in teaching to the benefit of all students.
We extend a very special thank you to the Mosier PTA for providing a homework folder to each student on the first day of school. We hope that this will help students with organization and it is expected that each child will bring and use the homework folder every day. These folders will also help families to know where to look for homework and notices coming home. Replacement of these folders is available for $1.00 per folder.
Students will certainly be provided with basic school supplies. However, if you wish for your child to come to school with additional supplies for personal or shared use, I have enclosed a list of teacher suggested supplies for your information. Individual teachers may request other things as needed.
If you have questions concerning bus transportation, please call Matt Hoagland at 413-534-1995. Enclosed you will find a copy of the 2008-2009 bus routes. Please be sure your child knows his / her bus number.
I am excited to welcome you and your Mosier student on Thursday August 28, 2008. I anticipate your partnership, support, and collaboration in providing the most successful school year for your child. I look forward to working with you toward this end. Please note the attached invitation for the Welcome Back Coffee Hour. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours truly,
Jill S. Pasquini-Torchia, Principal
